The Teen Power and Control Wheel
Some examples of power and abuse in a relationship are:

Social Status:
Do you know who you’re talking to?
I could dump you today and
have someone else by tomorrow.

Peer Pressure:
Come on, let’s ditch. I have
something better we can do.

Anger/Emotional Abuse:
What’s wrong with YOU?
You’re such a baby, take it like a MAN.

Intimidation:
Shut UP! Don’t make me hit you again.

Minimize/Deny/Blame:
You made me do it, besides, it’s only a little scratch, it’s nothing. You know it makes me mad when you flirt. You shouldn’t have been talking with that girl anyway.

Threats:

If you break up with me, I’m going to put those pictures of you all over the internet. So then everyone can see what kind of girl you really are.

Isolation:
I hate your friends, they’re losers. Why do we have to hang out with them? I should be enough for you!

Forced Sex:

What do you mean, "NO?!" You said you love me, so prove it.

Cell phones, texting and internet messages can allow an abuser to stalk and control their partners. Statistics show 30% of teens said they were texted 10, 20 even 30 times an hour by their partners asking "where, what they were doing, and with whom."
